Frequently Asked Questions (FAQ'S)

  • When does it start? February 13th, 2022 at 9:00am
  • When is the deadline registration? Online registration will be open until noon the Friday before (Feb 11, 2022)
  • What is the schedule? We will be posting our schedule in January 2022 so stay tuned. 
  • Are we require to show vaccine passports? Yes, all participants, volunteers and friends & family will have to show proof of full vaccination.
  • Do we have to wear masks while climbing? Yes, due to the PHO regulations all participants are required to wear a mask during the event and while climbing.
  • Is this a seated event? No, all those attending the event will be able to roam around the ballroom, however we will require you to wear a mask at all times unless seated.
  • Will there be food and drink at the event? Yes, there will be a breakfast buffet provided by the Sheraton Vancouver Wall Centre.
  • Can children participate? Yes.  Minors under 18 will need to have a guardian with them at the event. Children aged 12 and under can register in the 'youth' category and climb for free.
  • Are children required to show proof of vaccination? No, all children under 12 can enter & participate without vaccinations.
  • Is there a fundraising minimum? Yes, we ask each climber to raise at least $125 as an individual or as a team average. Firefighters need to raise $50 as an individual or as a team average.
  • Can I pick up my teammate's package? Yes
  • What time does the event start and when should I be there? Doors open at 8:30am. Please check schedule for your wave start time once posted. Waves will be assigned 2 weeks before the event.
  • Where do I park my car? The Sheraton Vancouver Wall Centre has lots of street parking in the area.
  • Can friends and family come to watch me climb? Yes. They are very welcome to come and cheer on our climbers. However, they will be required to show proof of vaccination before being allowed entry.
  • Can I climb in a different wave than I was assigned? Yes, just let us know before the event if you want to change waves.

THE RULES

 

  1. All climbers must wear their provided race number pinned to the FRONT of their t-shirt. 
  2. No water bottles are permitted in the stairwell. Water stations will be available throughout. 
  3. No backpacks, child carriers, or fanny packs. 
  4. If you need assistance during the Climb, radio-equipped hallway monitors & medical personnel are there to help and are located on approximately every 5th floor. 
  5. Please pass other Climbers on the left. Say “PASSING” as you approach. 
  6. All Climbers must descend in the elevator. If you need to exit before the finish, please do not walk down the stairs instead ask for help from a volunteer to exit onto the floor and take the elevator to the Grand Ballroom.
